Hubei, the birthplace of Lu Yu, the Sage of Tea, holds a significant position in the tea industry of China, being a major province for both tea production and consumption. The region is known for its vast tea plantations, diverse tea varieties, and high-quality products, alongside a rich history of tea drinking. Historically, Hubei was one of the three major ports for tea export in China, and Wuhan stands as one of the three major tea consumption and distribution centers, with annual consumption exceeding ten thousand tons.

The 15th Wuhan International Tea Industry Expo, co-hosted by the Shenzhen Tea Culture Promotion Association and the Shenzhen Huajucheng International Exhibition Group, is scheduled to be held from April 18 to 21, 2025, at the Wuhan International Exhibition Center (Hankou Wuzhan). This expo will leverage Wuhan's identity as the “Eastern Tea Port,” promoting the exchange of tea culture, innovation, and integration. It represents a significant opportunity to propel Hubei’s billion-yuan tea industry towards a stronger development, aiming to establish an international center for tea trade while creating a comprehensive service platform for tea industry showcasing, tasting, communication, and promotion.

The expo boasts a total exhibition area of 20,000 square meters and will feature 1,000 standard booths. It will include various sections such as the Chinese Brand Pavilion, National Famous Tea Pavilion, and Tea Culture Aesthetic Space, showcasing the excellence of six major tea categories alongside tea utensils, purple clay, ceramics, handicrafts, tea foods, and other related products. Renowned brands from major tea-producing areas across China will participate, including varieties like Yunnan Pu-erh, Anxi Tieguanyin, and Wuyi Rock Tea.

In addition to traditional tea products, this year’s expo will also focus on the deep processing of tea, presenting emerging products like tea snacks and beverages. Furthermore, the event will spotlight businesses involved in tea packaging, tea machinery, and testing equipment, inviting outstanding participants from tea distribution, chain operations, and import/export companies to contribute to the development of the industry.

To enhance the experience, a tea culture activity area and aesthetic space will be set up, inviting guests for tea performances and cultural lectures, fostering interaction and cooperation among attendees.
