2025 36th China International Optics Fair

The China International Optics Fair began in 1985 in Shanghai and moved to Beijing in 1987. With the approval of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation of China (now the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China), it became an officially recognized international exhibition, supported by the now- defunct Ministry of Light Industry (now the China Light Industry Federation).

By 1997, at its 10th edition, the English name was changed to ‘CHINA INTERNATIONAL OPTICS FAIR’, highlighting its status both domestically and internationally and attracting the participation and support of businesses within the international optics industry. This annual event has been held regularly in Beijing every September.

The exhibition showcases a wide array of products including eyeglass frames, sunglasses, lenses, contact lenses, 3D glasses, digital lenses, eye testing equipment, production machinery for eyewear and lenses, components and materials for glasses, molds, eye care products, cleaning solutions for lenses and contact lenses, eyeglass cases, ophthalmic medical instruments, ophthalmic supplies, factory supplies for eyewear, amblyopia examination and correction equipment, as well as related technology publications and associations in the eyewear industry.

As of 2019, the fair has celebrated its 32 years of history, with its scale continuously expanding in terms of area, exhibitors, and visitors. The total exhibition area has reached 55,000 square meters, boasting over 770 exhibitors and attracting more than 50,000 visitors, underscoring the event’s established position and influence in the eyewear industry.
