The improvement of living standards in Shanxi has led to a significant increase in tea consumption, especially centered around the provincial capital of Taiyuan, which radiates to other areas in Shanxi. The tea culture in Taiyuan is flourishing, evidenced by the presence of over 10 tea markets and more than 700 tea shops and tea houses, attracting an increasing number of tea culture enthusiasts and reflecting a deep interest in tea culture among the populace.

The market for the six major tea types, namely black tea, red tea, green tea, white tea, yellow tea, and oolong tea, is showing great potential in Shanxi. Notable regional teas such as Yunnan Pu-erh, Wuzhou Liubao, Hunan Black Tea, and Sichuan藏茶, along with popular varieties like Tieguanyin and Wuyi Rock Tea, have solid market foundations in the province.

Additionally, tea deep-processing enterprises are rapidly developing, catering to a diverse consumer demand with products like tea snacks, tea beverages, tea bags, and tea crafts, as well as plant-based health drinks. Packaging companies are also innovating in tea packaging, focusing on a variety of materials such as tea cans, gift boxes, and paper boxes.

During the expo, companies showcasing tea machinery and testing equipment will present their latest innovations, including tea-picking machines, garden cultivation machines, and tea packaging machines, providing modern production and quality control solutions. Distribution companies will highlight various aspects of the tea market, including distribution, franchising, and import/export operations, aiming to diversify the tea industry.

This year’s expo will also showcase a wide range of beautiful tea utensils and crafts, such as Zisha teapots, art crafts, root carvings, paintings, porcelain, and classical furniture, showcasing the rich heritage and artistic charm of tea culture.
