2026 23rd China (Chongqing) International Spring Tea Industry Expo

Chongqing has been renowned for its rich tea culture for centuries, with the saying "many city gates, many temples, and many tea houses." Tea houses are ubiquitous in both urban and rural areas, making them an essential part of daily life for Chongqing citizens. According to an article from March 1947, the Niu Island area alone had 2,659 tea houses, showcasing the enthusiasm for tea drinking among the people. Chongqing is also one of the original places of tea trees, with a production history of over 3,000 years. Out of 40 districts and counties in the city, 37 engage in tea cultivation. The annual tea production approaches 20,000 tons, generating an approximately 300 million yuan in value, with green tea making up about 75% to 80% of the total production.

The 2026 23rd China (Chongqing) International Spring Tea Industry Expo will take place from May 15th to May 18th at the Chongqing International Convention and Exhibition Center (Nanping). Organized by the Shenzhen Huajucheng International Exhibition Group, the expo will showcase well-known tea enterprises and related products from across the country. To promote the development of the tea industry in Chongqing and surrounding regions, buyers will be invited for on-site trade matching, building a platform for tea industry exchange and cooperation.

This year's expo will feature various types of tea, including black tea, red tea, green tea, white tea, yellow tea, and oolong tea, with famous varieties such as Yunnan Pu’er, Wuyi Rock Tea, and Anxi Tieguanyin on display. Additionally, deep processing tea companies will showcase products like tea-related snacks, tea beverages, and various tea utensils. Participating enterprises will cover tea packaging, machinery, and distribution companies, fostering supply and demand cooperation to further develop the tea industry in Chongqing and Southwest China.
