In 2024, China's marine economy is expected to exceed 10 trillion yuan for the first time, with shipping volume and container throughput accounting for about one-third of the global total. China has maintained its position as the world's leading producer of aquatic products for many consecutive years, confirming the ocean as a true "blue granary". The Global Ocean Expo aims to fully implement the central government's major policies on marine economic development and strengthening marine capabilities, adhering to the principle of focusing on five key areas. It aims to enhance industrial strength and promote high-quality development in marine cities, deepen cooperative engagement with countries along the "Belt and Road,” and facilitate the international exchange of China's deep-processed marine food products.
Approved by the Ministry of Commerce, this exhibition will be jointly organized by the China Food Newspaper and the Ministry of Commerce's Distribution Industry Promotion Center, among others, and is set to take place from March 29 to 31, 2026, at the Xiamen International Convention Center. The exhibition will cover a range of content across various exhibition halls.
- Hall C1 will showcase food processing machinery, packaging materials, and fishing industry equipment, including pre-treatment, deep processing, intelligent packaging, and cold chain transport technologies for marine foods.
- Hall C2 will feature local specialty traditional foods, leisure snacks, high-end beverages, dairy products, baked goods, coffee, and alcoholic beverages, highlighting the unique culinary culture of marine cities.
- Hall C3 will focus on international exhibits, showcasing marine city products and relevant technologies from various countries, especially from Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, and innovative marine products.
- Hall C4 will concentrate on pre-prepared dishes in the cold chain exhibition area, featuring finished dishes primarily made from marine aquatic products, and innovative functional foods like marine plant proteins and probiotics.
- Hall C5 will display the achievements of research institutions, showcasing core technological results, innovative food samples, and related testing and services.
In addition, there will be a multimedia real-world experience area in the metaverse, providing virtual and augmented reality experiences to attract younger audiences. During the event, an opening ceremony, product launches, and economic talks will be held to provide excellent platforms for exhibitors and buyers to connect and collaborate.
