Chongqing has long been known for its deep-rooted tea culture, with tea houses scattered throughout the urban and rural areas. The phrase "many city gates, many temples, many tea houses" captures the essence of life in Chongqing, where visiting tea houses has become an integral habit for all ages. Historical records indicate that as early as March 1947, there were 2,659 tea houses within a square radius of just 9 square kilometers in the Niudao district of Chongqing, showcasing the city's vibrant tea-drinking culture.

Chongqing is also one of the original regions for tea trees, boasting over 3,000 years of tea production history. Out of the 40 districts and counties in the municipality, 37 are involved in tea cultivation, with thousands of tea farmers participating in the production of nearly 20,000 tons of tea annually, generating an estimated value of around 300 million yuan. Green tea, in particular, takes the lead, making up about 75% to 80% of the total tea production in the city.

The 24th China (Chongqing) International Tea Industry Expo will be held from December 25 to December 28, 2026, at the Chongqing International Convention and Exhibition Center (Nanping). Hosted by Shenzhen Huajucheng International Exhibition Group Co., Ltd., this expo will leverage national media promotion, event planning, procurement, and cross-industry resource integration advantages to create an exchange, cooperation, and win-win platform for the tea industry.

The expo will gather renowned tea enterprises from across the country, featuring a diverse range of teas, including black tea, red tea, green tea, white tea, yellow tea, and Oolong tea (such as Yunnan Pu-erh, Wuzhou Liubao, Hunan black tea, Sichuan藏茶, Anxi Tieguanyin, Wuyi Yancha, high mountain Oolong, West Lake Longjing, Huangshan Maofeng, Xinyang Maojian, Liu'an Guapian, among others). Additionally, tea processing enterprises will showcase products like tea pastries, processed teas and beverages, tea bags, tea crafts, and health drinks. There will also be tea packaging companies with products including tea cans, gift boxes, and other types of packaging. Moreover, equipment and testing companies for tea machinery will display tea-picking machines, preserving machines, packaging machines, and other technical and mechanical solutions.

This event aims to provide a platform for tea merchants and industry players to connect and collaborate, supporting the import and export of tea as well as chain operations. The expo presents a valuable opportunity for exhibitors to showcase their high-quality tea products and for related industries to establish fruitful partnerships.
