To implement and promote the high-quality development of the Belt and Road initiative, the 2026 Xi'an Silk Road International Tourism Expo will be held from April 17 to 19, 2026, at the Xi'an International Convention and Exhibition Center, organized by the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism. As a new starting point of the Silk Road Economic Belt, Shaanxi will actively leverage its radiating role to create a tourism exchange and cooperation platform of international influence.
The expo will feature various theme pavilions such as the All-domain Tourism Pavilion and the Silk Road Cooperation Pavilion. The All-domain Tourism Pavilion will include exhibition areas for the cultural and tourism industry achievements of the guest province, as well as tourism achievements from various provinces and cities nationwide, especially from Shaanxi and the Northwestern provinces and regions. Additionally, there will be a special area for red tourism, highlighting the significance of red culture in tourism.
The Silk Road Cooperation Pavilion will focus on showcasing the organizations, enterprises, and travel destinations from countries and cities along the Silk Road. Exhibitors can promote their cultural tourism products, investment opportunities, and tourism planning services within this pavilion. There will also be a Cultural and Tourism Integration demonstration area featuring major national cultural tourism industry bases and enterprises. The Tourism Upstream and Downstream Industry Chain area will exhibit travel agencies, smart tourism platforms (OTAs), tourism products, and services, showcasing the diversity of the tourism industry.
In the tourism support service area, airlines, cruise companies, smart transportation, unmanned supermarkets, and 5G technology services will be showcased at the expo. The Leisure and Specialty Tourism area will focus on homestays, theme parks, wellness tourism, and RV camping, highlighting the growing emphasis on leisure and experiential aspects of modern travel.
Moreover, the Museum area will feature displays from museums nationwide, including those under the Cultural Relics Bureau and digital service providers, along with AR/VR experience areas that combine technology and culture. Lastly, the Cultural Creative and Specialty Tourism Products area will showcase local handicrafts, souvenirs, and collectibles, enhancing visitor engagement and cultural experiences.
The outdoor exhibition area will include RV travel, tourism gear, entertainment equipment, and an international food section, enriching the expo experience. This event provides a comprehensive communication platform for participants and aims to foster collaboration and development in the tourism industry.
