The 2026 Zhejiang (Shaoxing) International Tea Industry Expo will take place from January 1 to 4, at the Shaoxing International Convention and Exhibition Center (Keqiao). This expo aims to gather tea professionals and enthusiasts at the new year's start, using tea as a medium to showcase its charm and kick off a new chapter in the industry.
This year's expo leverages Shaoxing’s rich tea culture and geographical advantages, creating a professional platform that radiates throughout Zhejiang, connects with Shanghai and Jiangsu, and links both domestic and international markets. Shaoxing has a long history, formerly known as Yuezhou, and is a key city on the Eastern Zhejiang Canal. It is renowned not only as a land of wine but also for its profound tea heritage. Tea saint Lu Yu praised the local tea quality in his work, 'The Classic of Tea,' stating that "the fine tea from Eastern Zhejiang is from Yuezhou," reflecting the high quality of tea produced here. During the Song dynasty, Shaoxing's Rizhu tea became famous as tribute tea across the country.
Today, Shaoxing's textile, architecture, and yellow wine industries are thriving, and the unique regional culture and economic development create a fertile ground for the flourishing of tea culture. The expo will focus on the theme of 'Inheriting the Classics of National Tea, Co-Creating the Future of the Industry,' emphasizing brand cultivation, market expansion, and the integration of tea culture and tourism. It will present an immersive Eastern tea aesthetic experience, promoting deep interactions and integration in tea trade and tea culture. The expo will showcase six major categories of tea, including various tea leaves, tea ingredients, reprocessed tea, tea foods, tea clothing, tea furniture, tea spaces, brewing water, tea utensils, packaging machinery, tea crafts, and cultural tea products, vividly presenting the rich tea culture and industrial innovation of the region.
