The Dragon Boat Festival is one of the four major traditional festivals in China and the first festival recognized as an intangible cultural heritage by UNESCO. It plays an essential role as a pivotal point for consumer promotion activities throughout the year. To further promote market expansion and increase brand influence for various governments, consumer goods, and food companies, the 2025 15th China (Chongqing) Dragon Boat Festival Food Expo and Zongzi Culture Festival will be held from May 20 to 31 at the Chongqing International Conference and Exhibition Center. The expo will focus on critical areas such as food and beverages, zongzi (sticky rice dumplings), delicacies, specialty agricultural products, cultural tourism, intangible heritage, and imported goods, aiming to expand consumption scenarios, explore consumer hotspots, and stimulate continuous growth in festive consumer spending.
This year's expo features various themed exhibition areas, including a branded zongzi area, local specialty agricultural products area, liquor and tea beverage area, seasonal fruit zone, gourmet delicacies section, rural revitalization zone, intangible cultural heritage creative area, and an imported goods section. The branded zongzi area will showcase excellent zongzi from across the country and organize tasting sessions and zongzi-making competitions as interactive experiences. The local specialty agricultural products area will exhibit regional public brands from various municipalities and counties, accompanied by diverse tasting and promotional activities.
The liquor and tea beverage area will highlight high-quality products, including baijiu (Chinese liquor), wines, teas, and other beverages, supplemented by various promotional presentations. The seasonal fruit zone will feature fresh seasonal fruits and deep-processed fruit products, enriched by engaging experience activities.
The gourmet delicacies section will gather landmark dishes from different regions and will be integrated with a food tourism festival for interactive displays. The rural revitalization zone focuses on showcasing distinctive rural industries' products and encourages production-sales matching activities to promote rural economies. The intangible cultural heritage creative area will display rich customs products and crafts related to the Dragon Boat Festival, inviting visitors to engage in various themed experience activities. Finally, the imported goods section will bring international branded products to consumers, running experience and promotional activities.
