It was invested in by the Shenzhen Municipal Government and is operated by Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center Management Co., Ltd. It officially opened in 2004. Since its opening, around 100 exhibitions and more than 1,800 conference events have been held annually.

Located in the city’s central district, the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center covers an area of 220,000 square meters, with a total building area of 280,000 square meters. It is 540 meters long from east to west and 282 meters wide from north to south. The highest point above ground reaches 60 meters, with 6 floors above ground and 2 below ground. The steel structure, glass dome, and curtain wall combine beautifully, making it particularly stunning at night under the lights, earning it the nickname “Crystal Palace.”

The exhibition, conference, and service functions are arranged in a layered layout, both relatively independent and closely integrated. The first floor features 9 large exhibition halls arranged in a "U" shape, with an indoor exhibition area of 105,000 square meters, capable of accommodating 5,000 international standard booths for large exhibitions. The conference center is suspended above the exhibition halls and has 35 meeting rooms of various sizes, offering excellent functionality and can also serve as mid- to high-end dining venues. The second-floor service area features a main corridor that is 480 meters long, running east to west, providing a variety of exhibition-related services.

The Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center is equipped with advanced facilities and comprehensive supporting services, making it an ideal venue for hosting a variety of exhibitions, conferences, gatherings, ceremonies, celebrations, and performing arts events.
