Jinyang Lake International Convention and Exhibition Center is operated by China Taiyuan Coal Trading Center Co., Ltd. With a total construction area of 52,000 square meters, the center began construction in June 2009 and was completed and put into operation in September 2011. In May 2021, the China Taiyuan Coal Trading Center Exhibition Center was renamed the Jinyang Lake International Convention and Exhibition Center.
The center comprises eight exhibition zones:
- Entrance Hall: 3,600 square meters.
- Central Exhibition Area: 1,660 square meters.
- Hall 1 and Hall 6: 6,380 square meters each.
- Halls 2, 3, 4, and 5: 4,580 square meters each.
The entire venue can accommodate 1,176 standard exhibition booths, which can be flexibly arranged as needed. The south side of the venue features a 15,000-square-meter entrance plaza, while the southwest side includes a 23,000-square-meter outdoor heavy-load exhibition area.
The center's unique disc-shaped architecture combines the circular design of ancient jade bi (a traditional Chinese artifact) with a modern flying saucer aesthetic. This design symbolizes the rapid rise and development of the exhibition industry, making it a distinctive landmark in the city.
The center embodies the concept of "low-carbon, eco-friendly, energy-efficient, and the integration of architectural art and information technology."
