The Tibet Convention and Exhibition Center is the first comprehensive international exhibition center in the Tibet Autonomous Region. It is located along the Lhasa River, positioned at the heart of the Eastern City Business District. As the core project of Lhasa’s eastern business district, the center covers a total construction area of 35,880 square meters, with an outdoor exhibition area of 67,000 square meters. The facility includes two exhibition halls, an outdoor exhibition area, an artificial lake, and a musical fountain.
The Tibet Convention and Exhibition Center is deeply influenced by Tibetan culture in its design. The architecture features a frame-supported membrane structure, with the total membrane-covered area reaching 52,000 square meters. The lightweight and flowing shape of the membrane roof harmonizes with the surrounding Paradise Hotel’s "Snow Mountain" architectural concept, reflecting the Tibetan cultural preference for white ("Shangbai"). The "white cloud" design complements the hotel's "snow mountain" theme, symbolizing the majestic beauty of the Tibetan plateau.
Facilities and Exhibition Halls
The Tibet Convention and Exhibition Center consists of two main exhibition halls:
- Hall 1 serves as both a convention and exhibition venue, featuring a 4,080-square-meter comprehensive exhibition hall (Hall 1) and a 1,250-square-meter exhibition space (Hall 2). A 7-meter-wide corridor surrounds the hall, leading to four medium-sized conference rooms and 14 smaller meeting rooms. Additionally, a 1,600-square-meter entrance lobby is located on the northern side of the main entrance, providing a spacious public area for various functional events.
- Hall 2 is the main exhibition facility, consisting of two adjacent core exhibition halls, each 4,650 square meters. These two halls can be used separately or combined, allowing for flexible event setups.
The center also boasts a 67,000-square-meter outdoor exhibition space, making it ideal for large-scale outdoor exhibitions and events.
Located in Lhasa’s eastern new urban area, the Tibet Convention and Exhibition Center enjoys convenient transportation. City bus Route 20 provides direct access to the venue. The surrounding area is beautifully developed, featuring landmarks like the Intercontinental Hotel, creating a unique urban landscape that blends modern infrastructure with Tibetan cultural aesthetics.
