Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center is located at No. 1099, Guozhan Road, Pudong New Area, Shanghai. It is a high-standard, modern, and international exhibition venue featuring advanced facilities, a well-planned layout, energy efficiency, convenient transportation, and comprehensive functions. Situated beside the Huangpu River and west of the Expo Axis, it is adjacent to the China Pavilion, Expo Center, Performance Center, and five-star hotels, forming an essential part of a high-end international modern service industry cluster.
The venue was originally the Pudong Theme Pavilion of the Shanghai World Expo. With a total construction area of approximately 129,000 square meters—80,000 square meters above ground and 49,000 square meters underground—the building stands at a height of about 27.7 meters. Its architectural design is inspired by the traditional Shanghai "lilong" houses and "tiger windows," employing an "origami" technique to create a transition from two-dimensional surfaces to three-dimensional structures. The rooftop mimics the front-opening and sloping-back design of tiger windows, embodying the charm of Shanghai’s traditional Shikumen architecture. This unique design makes the venue a standout landmark within the Expo site.
Following the World Expo, the venue was converted into a standard exhibition center. The exhibition halls can be flexibly divided and combined according to exhibition needs, allowing for various professional trade shows. Together with the surrounding Expo Center, China Pavilion, star-rated hotels, Expo Axis, and Expo Culture Center, it forms a modern service industry hub focused on exhibitions, conferences, events, and accommodation.
The 3,000-square-meter conference area consists of 13 meeting rooms of different sizes, with the largest capable of accommodating high-level meetings of up to 800 participants. Over 90,000 square meters of supporting facilities serve as premium office spaces, business service areas, dining zones, and equipment areas. The 20,000-square-meter outdoor exhibition space complements the indoor venues, while an elegant and unique sunken plaza offers endless creative possibilities. The venue also provides convenient logistics, with nearly 1,500 parking spaces available in both ground and underground parking areas.
