Shipping is an important foundation for the economic and social development and a significant bridge and bond for international trade. According to the data from the International Maritime Organization, shipping accounts for over 80% of global trade. General Secretary Xi Jinping emphasized during his inspection of Tianjin Port that for the economy to grow and the country to become stronger, transportation, especially maritime transport, must first become stronger. With a vision for the long term, efforts are aimed at creating a world-class intelligent and green port, serving the coordinated development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei as well as the initiative of jointly building the "Belt and Road", and positioning northern areas as important strategic supporting points connecting domestic and international dual circulation.

To deeply implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important directives, Tianjin has successfully hosted two previous International Shipping Industry Expos. Nearly 500 leading companies, listed corporations, and world-renowned ports from 22 countries and regions have participated, attracting over 60,000 professional visitors to the exhibitions for fruitful negotiations.

The 3rd Tianjin International Shipping Industry Expo (referred to as the “3rd International Shipping Expo”) will take place from June 12 to 14, 2025, focusing on new trends and opportunities in the global shipping industry, placing more emphasis on the extension of the shipping industry and supply chains, and concentrating on international ports, shipowners, shipping equipment, green intelligent shipping, shipping services, international freight forwarding, cold chain logistics, low-altitude economy, and maritime cultural tourism. This expo will comprehensively showcase cutting-edge achievements and significant accomplishments in the world shipping sector.

During the same period, activities such as investment promotion, economic and trade networking, centralized signing, and achievement conversion will be held, along with organizing professional exchanges in international maritime communication, maritime arbitration, logistics, shipping finance, cold chain processing, cruise and yacht industries, and tugboat pilotage, striving to establish an all-encompassing, highly professional, widely covered, impactful, and authoritative industrial event and communication platform.

We sincerely invite enterprises and individuals in related fields to participate in this expo and look forward to gathering together to celebrate the shipping industry!

The International Port Zone will prominently display the latest achievements in the development of domestic and international ports, routing arrangements, the construction of smart and green ports, and other aspects. Innovations in areas such as pilotage and tugboats will be exhibited, highlighting their supporting role for ports; showcasing achievements that service the China-Mongolia-Russia economic corridor and inland regions will align with the coordinated development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and the “Belt and Road” initiative. The International Shipowner Zone will display the quality shipping routes, special equipment, and alternative green energy from shipping companies, illustrating the direction of shipping development while emphasizing Tianjin Port’s capabilities in serving all cargo types and varying vessel tonnages alongside supply chain development levels.

The Port and Shipping Equipment Zone will exhibit the latest technological achievements in port and shipping construction, shipbuilding and repair, and port machinery sectors; special vessels, marine engineering equipment, compatible operating systems, and new energy vehicles will also be showcased. The Green Intelligent Shipping Zone will focus on sustainable development achievements such as technological innovation applications and clean energy alternatives within the shipping sector, prominently displaying the evolution of upstream and downstream companies centered around port shipping; emphasis will be placed on smoothing the chains involved in the production and demand of clean marine energy to create a green shipping corridor.

The Shipping Industry Chain Zone will primarily present cold chain products (fruits and vegetables, meat), ores, steel, petrochemicals, grains, oils, and related upstream and downstream industries, including storage, stack yards, processing trade, and delivery transactions, aligning with the advantageous cargo characteristics of Tianjin Port. Significant focus will be laid on bulk cargoes, cross-border e-commerce, cold-chain frozen goods, and whole-process logistics. The Shipping Service Zone is dedicated to showcasing shipping finance and insurance, shipping information and communication, education and training, along with legal and consulting services in the maritime industry; imported goods, ship provisioning, management, services, and crew services will also be presented. The International Freight Forwarding Zone will exhibit dynamics of the global logistics market and cooperation exchanges, showcasing the latest services and trade innovations, promoting deep integration of the internet economy, digital technology, and freight forwarding industries.

The Maritime Cultural and Tourism Zone will provide a comprehensive presentation of maritime culture, tourism resources, and an interactive experience area, showcasing Tianjin's ocean-themed tourism while reflecting the unique characteristics of Tianjin as a coastal city. The Tianjin Comprehensive Shipping Exhibition Zone will establish an overall exhibition area showcasing the fusion development of ports, industry, and urban areas within Tianjin, along with designated exhibition areas for the Binhai New Area, Heping District, Hexi District, Hebei District, and Dongjiang Port urban integration demonstration zone, emphasizing the economic map adapted to port industries; all districts will promote their distinctive industrial features and quality enterprises through investment promotion policies and cooperative projects.
