The expo serves as a platform for cross-border exchanges, promotional displays, and product procurement, facilitating interactions among tourism professionals domestically and internationally. Through over a decade of brand development, CITIE has emerged as one of the most internationally integrated and market-efficient tourism exhibitions in China.

The 2024 expo successfully concluded in Guangzhou on September 15, attracting more than 50,000 visitors over its three-day duration. The event featured over 50 different thematic and professional activities, with participation from cultural and tourism organizations and enterprises from nearly 50 countries and regions, as well as over 30 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) in China. The expo attracted delegations from more than 10 industry associations for procurement, along with nearly 20 invited buyer groups attending for purchasing discussions.

CITIE hosted several thematic exhibition areas, including the International Cultural Tourism Pavilion, which showcased foreign destinations, airline cruises, and luxury tropical islands. The Integrated Cultural and Tourism Pavilion presented a lively acclaim for domestic destinations, featuring smart tourism exhibits and large-scale cultural tourism projects.
