The 2026 China (Xi'an) Advanced Manufacturing and Digital Industry Expo, along with the Defense Technology Industry Expo, aims to accelerate the establishment of a modern industrial system with distinct Shaanxi characteristics. This exhibition responds to the plans set by the provincial government and focuses on the restructuring of 34 major provincial industrial chains, spotlighting 23 chains specific to advanced manufacturing industries, which include aviation, aerospace, commercial vehicles (heavy trucks), passenger vehicles (new energy), CNC machine tools, and additive manufacturing.
These industrial chains show significant technological advantages and possess strong competitiveness, especially in sectors such as commercial vehicles (heavy trucks), passenger vehicles (new energy), solar photovoltaic, and transmission and transformation equipment, which have already reached a trillion-level industrial scale. In the future, products such as hydrogen fuel cell heavy trucks and large unmanned transport aircraft will emerge as new highlights in industry development.
Particularly noteworthy is the vibrant aircraft market, centered in Yanliang District. With AVIC Xi’an Aircraft Industry Group at its core, over a thousand enterprises collaborate here to develop more than 30 military and civilian aircraft models, including Y-20, J-20, and others, achieving breakthroughs in core technologies and fostering rapid growth in China’s aviation industry.
Beyond aviation, sectors such as commercial vehicles, passenger vehicles, and solar photovoltaic are also expanding rapidly, with companies like Xi’an BYD and LONGi Green Energy playing key roles in bolstering the advanced manufacturing clusters in Shaanxi Province.
The defense technology industry in Shaanxi is robust, showcasing multiple national-level military research institutions with leading professional skills and creating an effective R&D and production system. The collaboration between national defense technology and high-tech sectors, including aerospace and microelectronics, underscores the regional capabilities in advancing homegrown military technology.
Additionally, significant achievements have been made in the new materials domain, including titanium, magnesium, nuclear-grade zirconium, and ceramic matrix composites, marking rapid growth in the biopharmaceutical sector, as exemplified by Xi’an Janssen and its prominent position in the national pharmaceutical industry.
This expo will also promote digital economic development, advancing five major initiatives encompassing digital industries, the industrial internet, and smart factories to position Shaanxi Province at the forefront of digital economic growth. Various exhibition areas will feature dual-use technologies, defense equipment, industrial robotics, smart manufacturing, and new materials.
In summary, the 2026 China (Xi'an) Advanced Manufacturing and Digital Industry Expo serves as a vital platform for showcasing modern manufacturing and high-tech achievements in Shaanxi and the surrounding regions.
