Shipping is a crucial foundation for economic and social development, as well as an important bridge and link for international trade. According to the International Maritime Organization, shipping accounts for over 80% of global trade. During an inspection at Tianjin Port, General Secretary Xi Jinping emphasized that economic development and national strength must be supported by a strong transportation system, particularly maritime transport. It is imperative to aim high and strive to build world-class smart and green ports to better serve the coordinated development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and the Belt and Road Initiative, making Tianjin a key strategic hub connecting domestic and international dual circulation in Northern China.
In order to deeply implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's significant directives, Tianjin has successfully hosted two International Shipping Industry Expos. Nearly 500 leading enterprises, publicly listed companies, and world-renowned ports from 22 countries and regions have participated, attracting over 60,000 professional visitors for fruitful discussions.
The Fourth Tianjin International Shipping Industry Expo (referred to as the "Fourth International Shipping Expo") will be held from June 3 to 5, 2026, focusing on new trends and opportunities in global shipping industry development while placing greater emphasis on extending the shipping industry chain and supply chain.
